→Under this activity, a group of students decided to form the school cycling club under which they would go to nearby beaches using their cycles to reduce air pollution. As soon as I came to know about this I decided to take part in it and contribute my part to nature.
Lo – 2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
→The main challenge that we faced in this project was about the weather and time as there was no common period when everyone would be able to get free and come to clean the beach. But after a lot of meetings and discussions, we were able to decide on a common time early in the morning and fortunately, it was neither too hot nor too cold at that time.
Lo – 4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience
→The main factor which was required in this activity was a commitment to cleaning the environment as people were supposed to wake up early in the morning continuously for all weekends and then reach the beach with their cycles. All the people who participated in this activity showed their full commitment
Lo – 5 Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
—> The main benefit of working together was that we were able to clean a lot of trash on the beach while working together and even the locals were congratulating us. With each other’s company and dedication, we were able to continue this activity for 4-5 weekends.
Lo – 6 Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
→ One of the major issues of global significance that we faced while performing this activity was nature pollution. There are millions of kilos of weight thrown into water bodies and on beaches per day, which harms various other organisms whose life depends on water bodies such as fishes, corals, etc. We managed to make a small initiative to make the beaches clean again and make the life of other small organisms easier.
