For this experience, I started playing a sport regularly which will improve my gross-motor skills and I’ll be able to get my fitness to a new level. Through mentors, online tutorials, and consistency I developed my skills and my fitness. I started on 6th June 2021. Initially, it took me 4min 35sec to run 1km but now I can run 1km within 3 min 20sec. At first, I was only able to run 2.5 to 3kms in one go. But now I can run 5 to 6kms in one go.
LO1:Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.
My strengths were commitment, ball control. My weaknesses were endurance, shooting, and agility.
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
There were way more challenges than I expected, the main challenge was endurance because, after Covid, it was my first time doing any activity. To overcome this, I started with running 1km a day and then slowly increased it day by day. I developed many skills such as gross-motor skills
LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
To plan this out I used a variety of equipment such as an Agility ladder, Speed training parachute, space markers, and many more. I also asked someone to time me while I run 1km. For keeping track of my growth, I even made a spreadsheet for the same.
LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Initially making myself completely indulged was time-consuming. but eventually, I started enjoying the sport instead of feeling the pressure on me. It was extremely difficult to take out the time between schoolwork, tuition, and other extracurriculars. At many times, it got very stressful and I tended to prioritize schoolwork and deadlines over this. However, I showed commitment and I feel that I’ve succeeded with my goal and its vision.
