A lot of trees are cut in order to make paper, so to reduce this there is a solution of recycling old used papers. Crumple was an event wherein we recycled old papers to make new ones. This event was really helpful as I learnt how easy it is to recycle old papers and how does this help the environment by causing less pollution and deforestation.

At first it was challenging to understand the whole process of making new papers from the old used paper pulp as there were a lot of people. But as in when we started the process of making the paper, I developed my skills, which even increased my pace of making the papers. Gradually, the whole process got easier.
Since, there were 10-11 people during 1 session it helped us make maximum amount of papers. Also it was helpful working collaboratively, as we were able to help each other when we faced difficulties and also shared resources with each other to minimize the use of resources.
It is also a part of global significance as it caters to the SDG goals 11(sustainable cities and communities), 12(responsible consumption and production), 13(climate change) and 15(life on land). By volunteering in this event we were able to make sustainable use of paper which would decrease wastage and deforestation, Also we focused on how responsible consumption could lead to responsible and sustainable production, this would directly affect in climate change and would also benefit the live on land. The whole event was very well planned and didn’t have any ethical concerns in the whole process.
Overall, I feel that it was a great opportunity to volunteer in this event. Through this event I learned new skills and techniques on how to live a sustainable life. Also, It was fun to do this experience collaboratively. I feel grateful to be a part of this event and do something good for our environment and our community.
