Reconnecting with badminton

I was into badminton since the sixth grade and it was not me that showed interest by myself, rather my father who always played badminton sort of inspired me to play badminton. I played badminton for 3 years but lost touch with since higher grades meant I needed to focus on my academics.

LO – 1

In 11th grade, the school offered badminton as a sport but that only lasted two years and I couldn’t develop myself enough like I used to play. PS and CAS gave me an opportunity to play the sport again. At first, I was still trying to improve my footwork and my racket was not connecting to the racket as much as it used to, so first I decided to improve my footwork and decided to dribble the shuttlecock as long as possible, after a few days my shots connected better and I could hit difficult shots, that were either too far or hard to hit.

After a while I decided that I needed to level up and give myself a challenge, and started practicing smash and after a month I had started to hit nice smashes. Smashes made it so that the opponent had difficulties to hit and I could get points easily. I also practiced outside the school so I could improve myself. It was a daily battle between my patienece and hitting a good smash, it took me a week to hit my first smash but then it was a easy game, I could hit them quite easily after the first time.

In conclusion, CAS and PS gave me an opportunity to reconnect with playing badminton and through the past few months, I have trained to get at the same level as the old me and to make myself better at the game I deceived to learn new skills in the sport.
