SEVA is an NGO which helps spread awareness through social media. They spread awareness on the Sustainable Development Goals. I have made many posters about endangered species, protecting forests, saving water and other ethical issues. Using my poster making skills I was able to make the kind of posters they wanted and helped them spread awareness about these issues.
Making posters was easy, but making the best kind of posters they wanted and that fit to the theme wasn’t easy. I had to practice by taking some global issues and make the optimum poster for that issue. With this process I was able to identify my own strengths and weaknesses, such as typography was one of my weaknesses, but at the same time, raw image editing became my strength. Through this process I was able to make posters which was liked by the client.
I am not a social person, to begin with, and working in a team is something which I avoid a lot. It is not difficult for me to work with others, but instead, I like solitude. This experience required me to work with a team who I have never met before. My sister’s friend is a member of SEVA and through her I got this role. The members were friendly and polite because of which I didn’t have much difficulty working with them. Teamwork is really important when it comes to organizing and distributing work. It helps decrease the workload on a single person. As well as that, because there are so many people, the number of perspectives you get are also huge. Without working with your team, you won’t be able to harness all those valuable perspectives and make everything from your own perspective.
There were many global issues catered to in this CAS experience. I covered issues such as endangered species, rescue funds, saving nature, etc. Throughout this CAS experience, I have made posters on many issues and helped them spread awareness. This made me feel as if I am doing a right thing and helping those who are in need.
Since I am not 18 yet, my sister was working as an intern over there and I was making the posters for them
