Description of the activity and experience :
During these pandemic times, working out and looking after your well-being is a very mandatory thing. It was very stressful during those times to keep up with staying healthy while locked down at our houses. This CAS experience gave me an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and work out with creativity. This CAS experience consists of creativity and action. I came up with creative ideas for working out every day so that I could stay consistent and didn’t get bored of it such as Zumba, treadmill, etc. Every day felt like a new challenge and I felt very capable physically because of this CAS experience, I aim to continue this one even after the CAS for my well-being.
Learning outcome 1:
I was able to identify my strengths and weakness :
Strengths
- I have a lot of stamina which I didn’t know before this CAS experience. I can climb up and down a 10 story building 3 times without any break in 4.5 minutes.
- I am a very committed person when it comes to working out, it was pretty easy for me to stay consistent throughout because of the creative ideas I came up with everyday.
Weakness
- My core strength is very weak and something I should definently look upon and take into consideration.
- If I miss working out one day, it gets very difficult for me to start it with dedication the other day because I feel super lazy and tiring even before starting the excersice.
Now that I am aware of my strengths and weakness, I feel very informed about myself because I can work upon what needs more supervision and excel in my strengths. It’ll help me operate better with myself. It is very important for us to know our strengths and weakness because it helps us know ourselves better and also improve ourselves in a better version of ourselves.
Learning outcome 2 :
I am not a very physically fit person and I get bored of any physical activity super soon. It is very challenging for me to stay consistent. I have enrolled myself in basketball classes before for the sole reason of being physically fit but I couldn’t keep up with the very tight routine so I had to drop out. I overcame this challenge by bringing up creative ideas every time while working out to make it more interesting at the same time focusing on my weakness. I feel very proud of myself for having been able to complete this challenge, it gives me a ray of confidence now. It is very important to undertake new challenges because it keeps to active and also makes you always one step better today than you were yesterday. I discovered a new skill which was that I can be very hard on myself if I have to do something, there were a lot of days when I didn’t feel like getting off my bed but I was strong enough to pull myself out of that lazy mood and get into the workout mood. Learning new skills is an essential part of your personal growth, without learning anything, you’ll always be in a stagnant position in life which is not a good sign for somebody who wants to accomplish milestones.
