Swapperstop Event

The Swapperstop event took place at Fountainhead school and was organized by the students and I was a part of the core organising committee. The purpose of the event was to promote sustainability by encouraging people to exchange gently used items such as clothing, books, and accessories. The event was centered around the slogan “Reduce – Reuse – Recycle – Relive”. I worked closely with other team members to make sure everything was decorated to the best of our abilities.

LO1: Collaborating has never been difficult for me but during this experience I learned that I am not very good when it comes to patience. I had students working under me and sometimes I lost my head because they weren’t completing the tasks they were assigned in the given time bounds. I should work on being more patient because it helps in maintaining good relationships with the teammates.

LO3: A lot of planning was required to execute this event successfully. The entire senior school students and teachers were going to attend this event. We had to make sure that we take care of every small detail while planning this. The workforce was quite big, we initially formed teams, then assigned tasks to each one of them. Made a sheet in which they were supposed to update their progress, so that we could keep a track of their work.

LO5: Aside from my role, other members of the team faced challenges with certain tasks, such as creating teams according to the skills of every individual, differences of opinions while taking decisions, and lack of participation from some members. Despite these difficulties, we all came together and used our different skills and creativity to overcome these problems. We recognized the unique abilities of each team member and divided up tasks accordingly. By working together and utilizing each other’s skills, the event was a success.

LO6: The primary objective of the Swapperstop event was to raise awareness about sustainability issues. The volunteers even donated items such as books, newspapers, and bags to support the cause. We were resourceful and used our creativity to make the most out of what was available to us.

All in all it was a great opportunity for all of us to organise this event. It was a journey filled with a lot of efforts and hardwork but in the end it all payed off.
