During this CAS experience, I created a website wherein I uploaded blogs on various topics. This experience helped me develop my critical thinking and writing skills. Similarly, I developed learner profiles such as communicator and inquirer. These learner profiles were enhanced during the research phase wherein I had to collect concrete information regarding the topic and write blogs to convey truthful knowledge to the readers.
LO1 (Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth)
While writing blogs, I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses. For example,I considered my ability to research deeply in a topic as a strength and was able to maintain that so each blog written is correct in all dimensions, including facts and opinions. The possible areas of growth included my sentence structure and syntax error. I had to reduce those mistakes so that the reader can get a clarity on what I intended to convey.
LO2 (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process)
The blogs were written on an array of topics that covered fields such as pharmaceuticals, astronomy, wildlife, etc. One major challenge that was faced by me was to find appropriate content that the readers might find appealing. I wanted to make sure that when the readers read the blogs they don’t feel bored and remain interested throughout the reading span. Thus, to overcome this challenge, I worked on my research skills to find new and engaging topics.
LO4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences)
Writing blogs always comes with commitment and perseverance. While writing, I made sure that I posted blogs on a regular basis that is one blog per two week or one week. Since this cas experience consumes a lot of time, I made sure that the time invested was effectivity used. I tried to minimize the time given to this experience, by employing time-management strategies. All in all, it was an enlighting experience wherein I got the opportunity to implement my knowledge and skills.
