I and few of my friends took an initiative to clean the beach as an CAS experience. This enabled and helped us clean and protect the water life. We cleaned Dumas beach every weekend for an entire month.
LO 3 is Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience. It was very tough to take out time and wake up every week to go constantly to the beach and clean the beach. Additionally due to submission and other work load, I used to study till late night and would find it very difficult to wake up and reach on time so that we don’t face the heat and hotter temperature as the time pass. To resolve all the problem, I used to call each and every member of this experience to wake them up at 5 am sharp so that they reach the beach by 6am. through facing all the problem and solving them by myself I guess It would be way easier to organise myself for other experiences or project and also for the future.
LO 4 is Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. Through waking up every week despite of all the late night submission and work load reaching the destination on time showcased my commitment towards this experience. This experience was towards protecting the ocean from human activities is what made me show so much of commitment and perseverance.
LO 6 is Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance. The issue was water pollution. In India water pollution is a very common problem as visitors leaves their trash on the beach itself due to lack of awareness and secondary due to lack of laws. Moreover, due to human actions and choices ocean life is been suffering and as to help the environment I took an initiative to clean Dumas beach, so that we don’t allow trash to enter the water body and help the environment as well.
LO 7 is Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions. Before the experience I thought that this was not a very serious action as I never understood and necessary looked for trash upon the beach, but through the experience I was able to identify that this was a very serious problem as every time we went for a beach cleaning drive we could easily gather around 4-5 kg of plastic waste.
