Conducting Awareness Classes

My purpose is to educate students of the school P.P Savani about a few 21st-century issues that parents and school authorities are concerned such as extra and incorrect usage of social media, food wastage, proper garbage disposal and etc, in order to bring change in their surroundings and society.

LO 3:

In order to initiate and plan the CASexperiencee I had to talk to the management and the trustee who is my grandfather hence after talking to him about making the teacher/school repo better with students, the ultimate goal was to make the school a comfortable space for students where they aren’t criticized for actions that society does seem vital and essential for the growth of students. After getting permission from management for conducting awareness classes, I noted down a list of issues and problems teenagers face along with issues school faces, or gettings issues that are informed by the parents or the management such as usage of social media, food wastage, garbage disposal issues and etc. Planning and Initiating were surely hard because the success rate of these classes and how much impact will it actually have on students wasn’t something that could be calculated or known. I discovered that I had public speaking skills in me, the ability to express myself using words and phrases and that it will always be beneficial a skill that is going to help me throughout my whole life. After taking control and leadership of these classes planning big events with larger audiences wouldn’t be that hard for me.

LO 5:

I am more of an I person than we person because when I do things my way I get it done with precision and the best results yet wherever collaboration is necessary I will co-operate. Since management and members of school already knew me working collaboratively was quite easy because I could conduct things the way I wanted them 90% of the time along with making sure no rules and regulations of the school are broken. Sometimes the topics I opted to speak about would not be agreed upon by the management and I couldn’t conduct sessions on them but the only thing I did was accept it because you can’t have it every way. Teamwork and leadership were really important in this activity because, without them, I wouldn’t be able to conduct awareness classes in the first place.

LO 6:

Some of the global issues that were engaged in the awareness sessions were sustainable development goals by UNEP such as goal number 2 zero hunger, goal number 3 good health and well-being, goal number 4 quality education, goal number 5 gender equality, goal number 6 clean water and sanitation, goal number 12 responsible consumption and production, goal number 13 climate change, goal number 15 life on land, goal number 16 peace, justice, and strong institutions. Knowing about global issues contributes to my personal growth because I can use and transfer that knowledge to create a change in society and make it a better, peaceful place filled with justice along with open-mindedness. My work in this CAS activity makes me feel happy since as a youth of this society I am creating awareness that will produce new philosophy.

In the nutshell conducting a series of awareness, classes helped me bring out a positive impact as well as change in thinking of students as well as the school, its teachers, management, faculties, and every stakeholder associated with the school including parents.
