As we all know in today’s world people are taking nature as granted rather than being grateful towards the greenery around us as people are cutting trees are cutting plants and bushes for making new buildings,grounds ect. While we are essentially forgetting are basic roots of protecting our nature as at the end nature has a direct affect on human lives as without it we can not survive through. As an student I can not actually ban or take actions towards cutting trees, plants and bushes but can start with a small step which will benefit are nature in a very simple way, of planting. Planting is service to our mother nature and a small step toward protecting nature.
LO 2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
The biggest challenge of going forward with this CAS service was understanding the process of how to grow a plant as I have never been gotten any opportunity or any interest in planting my whole life so I was clueless about how to go forward with planting will, I first started with watching youtube videos where vloggers had been planting by their own at their own home, which helped me motivating that if they could do it then I could also do it by my own also my mom helped me as she had been doing planting whne she was in my age so I I took some helpful tips from her.
LO 4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience
planting is not just a normal CAS experience which would be over just in 2-3 days planting takes a lot of care and a lot of time as at a daily bases you have to keep pouring water to take care of the plant to ensure that the plant grows well and also have to deal with some problems which could occur during this process and that problems are very unpredictable and unexpected and sometimes dealing with it is also not very easy. So definitely this CAS experience help me develop a lot of patience so that I could in resultshow commitment towards completing the long process of planting.
LO 5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
As I was not the only one who was responsible of the planting process, my mom was also involve equally in the process as she had experienced planting before so she was a very could help in planting while this experience help my and my mom bond to be more strong also we had small conflicts as before planting me and mom had never done such serious and long term activity so communication problem was their but at the end she is my mom and we are similar so that helped to not convert small problems in our communication.
LO 6- Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Planting has many beenfits to the environemnt which is why my CAS experience has an engagement with issues of global signifiacnce as planting helps in reducing climate change, purifying air,cooling down the trees,natural air conditioning,saving water, preventing water pollution and renewable energy source, all these benefits have a high global significance as nature is a very important aspects towards human beings and planting helps protecting nature so that in future we would not be in a situation were we are left with no plants and trees for human beings to survive.
Learner profile-
communicator- as this experience was a collaborative experience and not a solo experience communication skills of mine was taken into use for performing the experience and that communication happened between me and my mom
knowledgeable- as it was my first time in planting so as a first timer I gained a large amount of knowledge in understanding the process of planting and because I faced some unexpected problems during this processso I could understand better now how to deal with that problems during planting.
