CAS Reflection – Unitree volunteering

Aryan Arora

I wanted to try something new for my CAS experience, I wanted it to be something that was new as well as significant. CAS in grades 11 and 12 gave me the opportunity to try something new which in this case was volunteering for an organization known as Unitree that helps people with down syndrome interact with the community. It was an open-handed act from my end that I enjoyed performing. The activity that I performed included all three elements of CAS that are Creativity, Activity, and Service. The activity that I performed was helping the children paint the earthen lamps for Diwali and helping the kids draw. There were children with down syndrome present with us as well and were helping us paint the lamps which helped me improve my communication skills as well and helped me interact with them. As volunteers, our role was to interact with them ( children with down syndrome ) while the activities, and make them feel included and accepted, this also aligns the activity to the sustainable goal of reducing inequality.

LO5:-Working with others was exceptionally useful for this situation as divider painting is a tedious assignment and working cooperatively could complete the responsibility rapidly. Working cooperatively made it exceptionally simple for us all to wrap up the responsibility. We must have the option to work cooperatively as it assists us with further developing our group working abilities and working in a group for this undertaking was vital since in such a case that we didn’t work in a group it would’ve required some investment thus working in a group was substantially more powerful for this situation.

LO6:- The global issue that is being taken special care of while chipping in for Unitree was reducing inequality. This issue is significant all around the world as it is being noticed all over the place. Inequality is terrible for society as it makes a lot of issues for individuals joblessness, tremendous distinction in the compensation scale between sexes, absence of value schooling, and so forth being familiar with these issues has added to my own insight and development too, by getting to be aware of these issues I can likewise mindful individuals of them and add to putting these issues to an end. My work in this CAS experience contributed towards stopping this issue.
