Yoga practice [activity]

I practiced yoga for at least 5 days in a week to stay physically fit Yoga is a type of exercise in which there are different types of poses to be strong and flexible. It is also great for health and is known to prevent various diseases. That’s why my family hired a yoga instructor to teach us a yoga routine properly. The tutor left since then but my family and I still follow the routine and do yoga.

Doing any kind of exercise releases chemicals that reduces anxiety and makes the person happy. I have also found that I feel great after any kind of exercise or yoga. There are also specific asanas for different purposes. People with glasses can do specific poses which are good for eyesight( same for hearing). We also do pranayama which increases focus in general which is useful in studying. It also reduces chances of respiratory diseases and heart failures. I have experienced a significant improvement in my health. Earlier I used to easily get a sinus infection. But now my health as well as my family have improved.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

During my course of learning yoga, I found out that I disliked to do some exercises. Either I wasn’t good at them or I didn’t have the stamina for it. But as time surpassed, with determination and consistency, I was able to get better.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Due to COVID-19, mental and physical health is degrading. it is important for one’s well being to exercise. I personally felt the lack of motivation to study or exercise. Sitting in home all day also meant lack of outdoor activity. This changed when I took the initiative to do yoga. It not only forced me to wake up on time and improve my sleep schedule but also become active. After doing it, I felt a sense of peace and calm as well as flexibility and better health

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

It was difficult to be consistent with doing yoga everyday. There were distractions such as sleep as well as phones. I realized that it is difficult for me to initiate an activity on your own; that I tend to procrastinate. But once I actually took the initiative, it became easier, fun and I wanted to be consistent.

I used to think that yoga is for old people and I don’t have to partake in it for years. But through this experience (better physical and mental health) altered my perspective. Now I would definitely recommend it to kids as well as adults. It can also act as a nice bonding experience between family and friends. I ended up feeling active and more peaceful as well as my concentration increased.
