Learning guitar – creativity

My experience is learning how to play a guitar, I was inspired by my friend who’s been playing guitar since we were in 5th grade. I was very excited as I was going to learn something new and listening to music has always been my safe place and I thought this is the way I can contribute to my hobby. I started with building the muscle memory and just switch through 2 chords until I could easily without looking at the guitar, Initially I thought it would be easy but as soon as I tried switching through chords I realised how hard it is. With practice, I learned how to switch through chords and can play songs now. It was truly a great experience and playing guitar for sometime is a part of my routine now because of it’s soothing tones which help me relax.

I was able to recognise my skills and weaknesses because to my experience with the guitar. My guitar teacher also assisted me in realising my playing limitations, such as my inability to maintain a regular practise schedule, as well as my playing passion. I learned new skills and information, including new notes and methods, through my guitar lessons and at-home practise. Although it was initially challenging for me to memorise the C chord and a few strumming techniques, with time and effort, I was able to become more reliable and eventually learned the chords. Playing the guitar requires practise and perseverance to develop the necessary skills, which helped me learn how to face and overcome challenges. It also helped me develop my musical abilities and creativity as I discovered how each chord sounded and I practiced how to play songs by listening to the music.

By creating a practise routine and signing up for in-person courses five days a week, I was able to arrange myself. I would set up a number of alarms and reminders to make sure I followed my routine. Setting objectives and practising consistently are necessary for learning to play the guitar, which helped me hone my organisational and planning skills. When I learned how to use a capo, strumming, and learn songs, I also went to teachers who were accessible to learn more. These tasks required me to take the initiative to look for possibilities and resources to advance my abilities.I was able to organize myself by making a practice schedule and enrolling for in-person classes for 5 days a week. I would ensure sticking to my schedule through a series of reminders and alarms. Learning to play guitar requires setting goals and practicing regularly which developed my planning and organisational skills. I also went to teachers available to learn more when I learned strumming, using capo and learning songs which required me to take the initiative to seek out resources and opportunities to improve my skills.

LO 4 –

Like with any instrument, persistence was necessary, and it took me more than two months to advance. I practised for 50 minutes every day, even when I didn’t feel like it, because consistent practise was crucial. Also, working with other musicians helped build communication and teamwork skills. It also gave me the chance to teach people about my knowledge and abilities.
