Wisdom Book Fair

  • I decided to organize a gratitude book fair with some of my friends as a follow-up to Wisdom Book Fair, which was a gratitude book fair. The main theme of the book fair was that people could take up to five books and donate any amount of money they wanted. The money we raise will be donated to an NGO that provides education to poor children so that they can have a better future.

Lo – 3 Demonstrate how to initiate a CAS experience.

This was a group project that required extensive planning. We divided the organizing committee members into several groups, each with a different goal. One group was supposed to collect books from our peers, another group was supposed to organize the fair’s decor, and the last group was supposed to communicate with the school’s administration team to provide constant updates on the fair. I can say that all of the groups pitched in and helped us put on a successful book fair.

Lo – 5 Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
This required teamwork and collaboration as it would not have been possible if any of the groups could not achieve their objective. We managed to collect over 120 books and a fund of 4000 rupees which we donated to the NGO. All the team members were happy with the outcome as without them it would
not have been possible.

Lo – 6 Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

We did everything we could to combat illiteracy, which is a global issue. We couldn’t give much, but the money we gave allowed us to make several of the poor children happy, which enhanced their enthusiasm for pursuing education for a bright future. Donations like this will eventually lead to zero illiteracy in our country, and exhibitions like this hope to inspire and raise awareness about these issues. We should always strive to give back to the community and help as many people as possible in order to improve society as a whole.

Lo – 7 Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

They were partially correct in their assessment that the fair was unlikely to be possible, and they decided to leave the project for good, leaving the group with only a few people alone in the project than was required, but I was able to persuade some of my friends to join the group at the last minute. They made the decision to join the group two days before the fair, and we put in all of our efforts without giving up hope, and we were able to organize the fair successfully.
