Swapper Stop CAS experience -(creativity)

This is about the swapper stop event held at fountainhead school. This event was planned to promote the concept of a thrift store to our school and to make students aware that buying new clothes and accessories is not always essential. I was the collection teams coordinator I had a lot of volunteers helping me out which made my task easy. It was requested that students in grades 11 and 12 bring any lightly used items they might have sitting around, such as clothing, games, and books. We evaluated the quantity and calibre of the finished product, and as prizes we handed the students tokens with points written on them. The thrift shop was located in our school’s Hippodrome, and we also staged band performances there to delight the visitors. Token points earned by the students might be used to pay for gifts from other students.

learning outcome 1:-

Because we had already learnt how businesses function through our business management book, our knowledge was being put to the test in a real-world setting. This implied that we would also become aware of our strengths and weaknesses. Due to the business training I pursue, I have a lot of experience working with customers, therefore one of my abilities was being able to communicate with them very effectively. One of my most well-known and regularly used abilities is the capacity to converse with others, including total strangers. But I believe I lacked time management abilities because I was prone to getting sidetracked, which caused timetable delays. So this event also taught me a lesson that how we should keep ourselves organised and manage ourselves according to our work.

learning outcome 2:-

It was decided to take on challenges in order to learn new talents. We were performing in a real-world environment, as I had indicated. This was a new skill that many of us were learning even if there were certain controlled variables, such as the fact that the only clients were faculty and/or students from the institution. The new abilities we acquired included teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and, most importantly, time management, which was absolutely necessary for me to adapt to circumstances like this one in real life.

Learning outcome 3:-

Through this project, I was able to better grasp project organisation and became aware of the extensive planning necessary to complete the project successfully. In order to collect items that people no longer use, we first agreed on the project’s overall theme—a thrift store—and then formed teams for collecting, decoration, social media, and entertainment. Then we chose the location, and all the teams finished their assignments.

learning outcome 6:-

The students’ non-purchased clothing and games were then donated to those in need, resolving a big issue with clothing availability since many people in India lack access to clothing.
