Swappers Stop(CAS PROJECT)

Swappers stop is an event organized by the Business Management and Economics team. This event was based on the concept of a thrift store, where students were asked to give certain items ranging from clothes, accessories, stationery, and board games or books. And on the basis of what objects were given, I had to rank them and give them points, and then these objects can be purchased by other students based on the points they receive from giving their own stuff in the event. My responsibility in this particular event was to give points for the items given by students and teachers.

I used 2 Learner Profiles during this CAS Project which were Principled and thinker. I used Principled as I gave everyone the points that they deserved if I knew someone I did not become biased and gave them more points but I was fair and gave everyone the points that their object deserved. I used the learner profile thinker as on the basis of things quality and use I had to give it points and that is why I used thinker while giving points.

I exhibited Lo1, Lo2, Lo3, Lo4, Lo5, and Lo6 throughout this project.

Lo1 which is Identify own strengths and develop area of growth, I exhibited this as I identified my strength which was identifying the quality of the product and giving it the points that it deserves. I also identified an area of growth which was interacting with strangers such as people from G11 who I don’t know and the teachers that I don’t know communicating with them was difficult.

Lo2 which is Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process, this is used as mentioned earlier during this drive of collecting objects we had to go to G11 and go to meet teachers so communicating with them was hard as they were complete strangers to me and when I had to communicate with them it was difficult this was a challenge that I faced and after this drive, I feel that my communication skill has improved as I had to communicate with so many strangers so I developed communication skill.

Lo3 which is Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS project, I used this Lo as we planned how to go to the collection drive and we distributed our roles among the team by asking each other about who knows what people in which grade the people who knew more teachers were assigned to go to teachers for the collection drive, the people who knew G11 students went to G11 and I with a group of 4 people went for the collection drive in G12.

Lo4 which is Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS project, I used this Lo as we had to go on the collection drives for a total of days multiple times so I went multiple times to the collection drives missing my free slots and meal break and also for the collection of objects.

Lo5 which is Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively, I used this as I recognized the benefits of working in collaboration with a group because we had a lot of people in a group we distributed our roles which made our tasks easier.

Lo6 which is Demonstrate engagement with the issues of global significance, as we know that currently in this world people are making a lot of waste by throwing things after using it once or twice which is increasing waste in this world so with this event if the things are appropriate objects are distributed and are used again reducing waste as the things that would go to landfills are instead worn by people or is kept at people’s home that is why I used this Lo.
