The financial market is a broad term that encompasses various types of marketplaces where the buying and selling of securities take place, such as the foreign exchange market and the stock market. These markets play a vital role in the functioning of an economy, providing opportunities for individuals to diversify their income streams and investment portfolios. Recently, my interest in economics, statistics, and other related fields has grown. Despite this, I have been unable to learn more about financial markets due to a constant stream of assignments and exams.

I made a deliberate effort to understand financial markets by viewing videos on a particular YouTube channel. This allowed me to familiarize myself with different types of markets and investment options available. After obtaining this knowledge, I decided to put it into practice by allocating 20,000 rupees toward different financial products. Additionally, I pledged to donate any profits gained from these investments to charity organizations. I believe that utilizing my new-found comprehension of financial markets not only benefits me personally but also contributes positively to society by supporting charitable causes. This not only offers financial gain but also a sense of satisfaction that the profits generated are being put to good use.

I think that charity is important because it helps to improve the lives of those in need by providing critical support and resources, reducing inequalities, building stronger communities, fostering civic engagement, and contributing to addressing pressing social and environmental issues. Charitable organizations work to support marginalized communities, promote social and economic development, foster community cohesion, and support personal fulfillment. These activities contribute to a better and more just society for all.

Throughout my education in financial markets, I demonstrated several key learner profiles including curiosity, knowledge, thinking, and balance. My curiosity drove me to seek out new information and understanding about the markets, and I actively sought out the necessary resources and skills to conduct research and inquiry. Through the completion of chapters, modules, quizzes, and exams, I was consistently gaining new knowledge and becoming increasingly well-informed on the subject. My critical thinking skills were evident as I analyzed data and graphs during quizzes and certification exams. Additionally, I demonstrated a balanced approach by effectively managing my time during a one-week vacation period. I was able to adjust my schedule and find a balance between this course, leisure activities, my internship, and my other studies, ensuring that I was making progress on all fronts.

I identified my strength and weakness with the help of my interest my weakness was using various technical indicators while my strengths were financial statements. My strengths and weaknesses made me recognize my areas for growth as I worked more on the area I was weak in and finally developed a good understanding. Then doing this course was slightly challenging as well as I had to learn about graphs, and terminologies that I had never seen before and I had to learn mathematical algorithms, financial indicators, data analysis, etc. which was very much new for me as it was never taught in school yet. Hence this course required a lot of daily commitment and perseverance by re-reading things I didn’t understand again and by practicing.
All in all, in the end, it made me feel more confident about myself to learn completely new skills like financial literacy and statistical and data analysis from financial graphs while I also improved my critical thinking skills and self-management skills by adjusting my timetable and managing my time for the course for a week. Also, I feel positive as these skills will
help me a lot in the future. Below are the evidence;
During my studies in financial markets, I recognized my strengths and weaknesses through my interests. I discovered that my weakness was in utilizing various technical indicators, while my strengths lay in understanding financial statements. This realization of my areas for growth prompted me to focus more on my weaker areas and eventually, I developed a good understanding of them. The course itself was challenging, as it involved learning new concepts such as financial indicators, data analysis, and mathematical algorithms, which were not previously covered in my school education. This required a lot of daily commitment and perseverance, as I had to put in extra effort by re-reading materials and practicing regularly. As a result of this, I gained a deeper understanding of financial literacy and statistical and data analysis skills through financial graphs. Additionally, I also improved my critical thinking skills and self-management skills as I managed my time effectively during a week-long course. I feel positive about the future as I believe these skills will be beneficial for me in the future. The evidence of my improvement can be seen through my performance on quizzes, certification exams, and personal reflection.
