CAS Experience – Trek

During the monsoon season, I went on a one-day firefly trek with my cousins near the Gujarat-Maharastra border. The time I spent there gave me an opportunity to think about my life, and my goals and I made great memories with my cousins.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

My strength was my balance which helped me climb the huge rocks and my speed which helped me keep up with my group. As, it was a one-day trek, and we had to move from one place to another quickly, I sometimes got tired. My area of growth is working on my endurance, to go on difficult treks in the future, which will help me stay fit while helping maintain my agility.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

The trek was of only one day, hence it was difficult to keep going by waking up early and spending the whole day trekking. I am not someone who does regular workouts, hence I had to ensure that I don’t slow down, due to which the whole group will be impacted. Along with this, the journey was challenging due to heavy rainfall in between the trek. During this process, I developed my social skills by communicating with other members of the group.

Final takeaway:

The overall experience was great and something I would like to do again. It was a short break from all school submissions which was refreshing yet challenging.
