Sonder Writer’s Club (Creativity)

Sonder Writer’s Club is a high school club for students who are zealous about writing. Here writing is not a task, it’s an experience. It has a fair share of freedom, yet it isn’t wild. It is not about defining who you are but finding yourself. It is about the satisfaction you get when you write the perfect piece and it’s about accepting criticism and feedback. It’s about exploration but in your own little world. Above all, it’s about creating a network of emotions with yourself, with others around you, and in your community.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I’ve always appreciated the art of writing and am greatly passionate about it. This experience gave me an opportunity to enhance my writing skills. Through different assignments and themes, I was able to expand my creativity, improve my skills, grow as a writer and learn a lot from others.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I would always have excuses ready for not being able to write something and explore challenges. This club was an extracurricular activity that helped me become persistent and committed to writing.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

It was very insightful and beneficial to be a part of a collaborative club because as a writer, being able to share my work with others and receive their critical feedback was very rewarding. We were all able to work on our strengths and weaknesses together and grow as individuals.
