→ Me along with my school friends decided to go on a trek on our grade 11th vacation. We decided to go to the Phulara ridge trek which was offered by a company called Indiahikes. We went from 20th May till 28th May. It was a very exciting and a new experience for me as well as for my friends. It helped us to navigate how to travel on our own and allowed us to learn new skills and helped us to make new friends on our journey.

Lo – 1  Identify your strengths and develop areas for growth.

—> It helped me to work on my weaknesses such as managing on my own as it was my first trip without my parents, so I guess it was a little bit scary at first but as I spent time with my friends it turned out to be great. This trip also allowed me to work on my social skills. This trip allowed me to make some new friends and socialize. This turned out to be a great journey for me. It also allowed me to work on my physical fitness as we had to climb a height of 12000 feet.

Lo – 3 Demonstrate how to initiate a CAS experience.

→ We had to practice a lot to complete this trek as it was a difficult trek for first-timers like me. We had to go for a run of 5 km every day to be eligible for this trek and we were supposed to send them a screenshot of the same. For this CAS experience, I was working on my physical well-being by going on regular walks and exercising and I also managed to encourage my friends for the same.

Lo – 7   Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

—> During the trek, we were supposed to manage the different physical fitness of other people and we were supposed to help each other. Some people weren’t able to climb at the same speed as everyone. One of my friends was continuously getting injured and was running out of energy to complete the trek so I along with my other friends decided to help him out by carrying his weight and by continuously motivating him. During a trek, even the slightest problem could lead to major problems so we were supposed to take care of each other like a big family and that’s what we did.
