CAS – Keyboard Lessons

Since childhood, I’ve struggled with creativity because I’ve always preferred physical pursuits. I was able to learn something new by enrolling in keyboard lessons. CAS provided me with this chance, which I am grateful for because it allowed me to acquire numerous abilities and grow as a person. I’ve always wanted to learn music that I enjoy, which I was able to do after learning to play the Keyboard. LO 1, LO 2, LO 3, and LO 4 are the learning objectives that I attained.

LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Pondering upon my strengths, I figured I had a good hold on the notes and octaves since I have done vocals in school as my AS choice. My commitment to learning was also a strength, as I had a strong desire to play songs, which became a driving force for me. When it came to my flaws, I often struggled when it came to patience, in order to learn keyboard to require patience, you need to practice 1 song one too many times to perfect it. Once, I discovered my weakness I payed more attention to it, to make it my strength.

LO 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Learning to play the keyboard was a new challenge for me because I had no prior experience in instruments and was easily annoyed when things did not go as planned. To begin with, it took a long time for me to progress from playing keyboard to actually learning music. During that time of waiting, there were times when I wanted to stop learning, but I persevered in the hopes of one day achieving my goal. What counts is that I didn’t quit, and this has given me more confidence in my life.

LO 3 : Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

As I was already taking tuition classes, kathak classes and trinity classes all in a week, due to which it did become difficult to manage my time. My parents thought that it would interfere with my schoolwork and cause me to grow exhausted. So I had to show them that I was capable of doing it. To do so, I created a schedule and made a time table to be on point in all my classes and in schoolwork too. I attempted to arrange my time in such a way that I did not jeopardise my academics while also learning what I desired. My time management abilities will come in in here. My numerous attempts finally convinced my parents that I was capable, and they authorised me to enrol in keyboard classes.

LO 4 : Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

As I previously stated, it was lengthy and frustrating, but I persisted because I knew the final result would be fantastic. I would miss courses from time to time due to submissions and tests, but even after that my persistence in attending classes is what helped me play keyboard more effectively.

To summarise, studying guitar has been a difficult trip with many obstacles but my persistence drove me to the finish line, but learning this new craft has helped me become more skilled, and that is ultimately what matters.
