CAS Entry #2 – Farewell Management

Farewell for the Batch of 2022 was a really important event for our seniors and us as well. Nearing the end of our school years, being a part of the farewell gave us all a big reality check. Planning the farewell included a lot of dance practices, discussions, arguments, food and tons of meetings.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Being in the management team I was able to learn a lot about my skills, my weaknesses and my strengths. The organisation of the farewell was quite chaotic, having so many people be a part of the CC and OC definitely brought more opinions in the discussion than required. For the farewell shockingly I was able to communicate with the members quite well, in fact I was able to mediate between them and help handle the situation at times.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in that process
One of the challenges was stepping out of my comfort zone to voice my opinions or to suggest what I think could be done instead. In order to do that we had to communicate with each other but one of the key problem for that was not knowing who to communicate with, which really hampered the communication between the team.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Working collaboratively had its own perks, everyone had different skills that they brought to the table. As farewell being an all-rounded sort of event we needed as many different opinions and creative ideas as we could. Working collaboratively was quite the key to making sure the event becomes successful, even though it had its own challenges collaborating with people outside my comfort zone was definitely a skill I gained from this event.
