CAS- CREATIVITY – Media Management in Class of 2022’s Convocation

As a part of any CAS Creativity experience, I volunteered to handle the social media and photography/videography in the convocation event, alongside Jiya Patel. Since we worked on social media in the class of 2022’s farewell too. we were well experienced, and we knew how to go about it. We were responsible for (reels, posts, story, live) content planning, creating, and posting. Shooting interviews, photography.

LO1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.

I am good with management and organization, yet this gave me the chance to sharpen those skills. I lack in teamwork, and because in this experience I had to work in a team, I grew in those terms. And since planning was important in this event, and that is why I gained a sense of responsibility.

LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

I experienced a few challenges, such as shooting interviews in a short time. Getting the right footage and making sure it is accessible to everyone within the few hours after the event was over. I developed my Socia skills through the process as well.

LO3- Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

As easy as it sounds, social media planning is difficult because you never know what the audience will like. And Instagram’s algorithm is confusing. We planned the content day wise and responsibility posted it.

LO4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.

Because my sister is in the class of 2022, I could have gotten easily distracted because naturally, I’d want to see the event and not be moving around to get pictures of everyone. I believe I showed commitment and executed my role as the social and media manager.

LO5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

Working collaboratively turned out to be beneficial because I developed my teamwork skills. and along with that, I was able to divide the workload. Which helped us make more effective content. And we could stay organised.
