Providing Food And Clothes To Poor People – Service

My group of friends and me went to social work for providing food to poor people we gave healthy biscuits to them and we also donated clothes. I always believed in giving people help if we can. We were a group of 3 friends who went to donate food and clothes. Providing the needs of a human will surely help as the poor ones cannot afford it. Also, every year in the whole world nearly 20 million people die due to hunger. Many people have no access to food and water. Even food and water is luxury to them.

The learning outcome for this experience is LO1 also because I have identified my own strengths and weaknesses. My strengths were that I was confidently helping all the people I was looking for near me. Also I planned the whole CAS experience while few difficulties such as not getting the people who were unprivileged. Now I feel that I am capable of donating to poor people, I feel proud to give food and donations to them. It is important for us to know our strengths and weaknesses so that we can identify our glows and grows. Glows means the area where we are doing great and glows means the area where we need to still work on. I did work on my weakness, I was a little shy to donate and give them in front of them but that was my weakness and I overcame this with the help of CAS experience.

The second learning outcome I have learned is LO 2. This experience was a bit tough for me because I am a shy nature person and cannot straight away go and give the donations so it was a challenging task for me. Secondly, it was a challenging task to identify whether the person had access to food and clothes or not. It was challenging because their standard of living was not like an unprivileged family. I overcame this challenge by actually looking at people who were sleeping homelessly on the streets and then I gave them food and clothes. I feel that I have done this challenge confidentially now I can go and donate anything easily, I won’t have any shyness now. It is important for me to undertake the challenge as it helps social responsibility. It is important to learn new skills because it helps us to be a better version of ourselves.

The third learning outcome I have learned is LO 3. I made and initiated a CAS Plan. I organized my work by collecting food and clothes and donating it to unprivileged people. It was difficult for me to find people, as by face we cannot judge how privileged a person is. Initiating was more difficult because the practical part was difficult when we went to find to donate them. I am usually an organized person but this experience made me plan things well. I discover my humanity skill, which I wasn’t aware of, as it was my first donation. I also planned how would I collect food and clothes and then give them. All the step-by-step processes helped me to know how organized I am.

The Learning Outcome which I learned is LO 6 that how to solve issues of global significance, as I want zero hunger in our planet to save people and to help them. After researching about hunger, many people die due to inaccessible food and water and this is why I decided to help the people who don’t have food. Even many people get sick due to no clothes and the human body needs clothes for surviving in extremely bad weather conditions. So I decided to donate my old clothes and my family members who don’t wear clothes also donated to the people who don’t have clothes. Connecting my personal growth to global issues did help me be happy. When I looked at the smiles on poor people’s faces, it gave me happiness also because, because of me someone is getting happy and that makes me proud.

This activity benefited others (poor people) by getting access to food and clothes.
