Dancing in the grade 12 farewell.

I have always enjoyed dancing, hence when the opportunity appeared to give our seniors their last hurray, I wanted to put my skills and experience as a dancer to use. Due to the covid pandemic in place, the event was uncertain, we were just informed 25 days prior, and we were supposed to prepare 3 dances, hence the time crunch was a challenge.

Learning outcome 4: Show commitment and perseverance towards the CAS experience.

Dance performances were extremely long each ranging from 5 minutes to 10 minutes. Considering the time crunch we have dance practices everyday for an hour, and I ensured that I did not miss any practice so that the team wasn’t hampered.

Learning outcome 5 : Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.

We were doing the dances as a group and in pairs respectively, either way I had to ensure that we showed coordination to give an aesthetic appeal to the performance. In all practices we worked collaboratively changing the choreography if some team members were having trouble, changing positions to give everyone stage presence.

Overall, this experience gave me a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction because I knew I had put my experience and skills to good use, and ensured that the audience enjoyed their performance.
