Wall painting event was organized by Unitree, an organization that helps bring equality among society. In this event, there were several participants interested in the event. It was organized on (17/07/2021) at Turtle Puddle, Vesu. We together painted the wall with a strong image that can bring unity in the society. We painted the quote “#WE”.
Elaborating more on two learnings which I enhanced while experiencing this event :
Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively :
Working with others is generally good as there have some things that need to be done together. One person can bring a small amount of change, but if more people do it then the impact might be more. It also distributes work and gives less work and load. For me it was easy as me and my friends went to an event held by an organization ‘Unitree’. There were many volunteers from there so the people count increased which decreased the work per person. I didn’t have to work with someone hard to control as we were on the same page when we got there. It is important to work collaboratively as this can even help in the CAS projects and in the future.
Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance :
The issue we were fighting was that children with down syndrome were not getting enough attention in society. Other classmates would make fun of them and not be friends with them. This may impact their personal life and future. They are important because they are all around the world. If they go anywhere for higher studies they will need to interact with their batch mates if we help create a message in society from now it will not be too late. Knowing about the issue helps me grow personally, as from now on I will know how to behave with them and not treat them any different than ‘Human’. I feel bad for children who are suffering from Down syndrome as they have friends who are suffering from Down syndrome. They just see normal children have fun with friends but what about them, their feelings.
