{"id":2140,"date":"2022-04-27T17:20:30","date_gmt":"2022-04-27T17:20:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/classof2023.fountainheadschools.org\/?p=2140"},"modified":"2022-04-27T17:20:30","modified_gmt":"2022-04-27T17:20:30","slug":"open-mic-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/classof2023.fountainheadschools.org\/index.php\/2022\/04\/27\/open-mic-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Mic Event"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>LO&#8217;s ( lO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth;LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process;LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Music has always been a part of my life and it helped me express myself,my emotions and my words.I have always been interested in learning more about the field of music.I wanted to go more deeper into music and therefore, I decided to take up learning musical instruments and vocals.After a while,I thought of bringing a new challenge and decided to participate in an open mic event held at \u201cHub the club\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I contacted the organization committee and enrolled myself for an unplugged solo performance.For the open mic,I decided to learn a new song which I haven\u2019t done before.I decided to go with the song \u201cthousand years\u201d for my first performance.I had to plan the whole flow of performance and I had to learn the chords and strumming pattern in guitar and I also had to learn the vocals for the song.This whole process required a lot of practicing and hardwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The whole process was very challenging for me.I had little experience in the field of music and I had never performed in front of a crowd ,so I wasn\u2019t familiar with how open mic works.I was very nervous before and during my whole performance.I wasn\u2019t able to properly throw my voice and sing due to my nervousness and did a mistake during the performance.Their were also some minor mistakes while playing my guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This open mic helped me see my areas which I need to improve and work on.it also helped me overcome my fear of stage fright and made me more confident while performing on stage now.I am glad I took the risk of undertaking this challenge and bringing it into action.I can use the&nbsp;
