I have been playing basketball since 6th grade. I have loved playing basketball ever since. Due to the current pandemic, I have been distant from basketball or any other sports or physical activity as such. In order to gain my physical fitness, I decided to join basketball classes. I wanted to improve my skills in basketball, increase my shooting range and learn new shooting skills and styles. Side by side I also wanted to develop my strength. Due to lockdown, I wasn\u2019t able to practice, I lost grip on my skills and techniques which I wanted to brush up again. I joined classes and continued for 3 months. I organized my schedule accordingly and trained for 2 hours every 3 days a week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My strengths were that I\u2019ve had plenty of experience with this game and I\u2019ve known most of the skills and techniques. I\u2019ve had a lot of practice as well but the weakness, in this case, would be the lack of engagement in the game for almost a year due to the pandemic. One of my weaknesses in the skills area was the shooting range. I lacked in shooting 3 pointers which I wanted to improve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenging part of this experience was the fitness part but since I practiced regularly I was able to gain back my fitness and catch up on my speed in the game. I could observe my shooting increasing after a lot of practice by joining the classes. All the skills I’ve learned will definitely help me in my future basketball tournaments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(L4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I avoided going late or missing classes, I was consistent and committed as going to classes and learning was fun and helpful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this experience, I have developed a few learner profile attributes such as Reflective as while practicing I reflected on my previous skills, Balance as I managed to balance my schedule for basketball classes and other classes. I really enjoyed going to classes and playing basketball. It helped me feel more connected to the game. I found this expires to be a success in terms of achieving the goals which made me feel motivated to continue playing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
